WASHINGTON, Pennsylvania—The Mount Union men's lacrosse team shutout Washington and Jefferson 24-0 Friday night in a non conference victory.
The Purple Raiders (4-0) were led by
Talon Osmun with six goals with
Sly Sundown picking up four goals.
Spencer Logsdon,
Mark Zusman,
Liam Erwin and
Braylon Li each scored two goals while
Aiden Mays,
Josh Pasco,
Grant Dunmire,
Josh McCawley,
Vinny Marszalek and
Dane Matuscin each picked up one goal.
Matuscin and
Logan North each picked up seven ground balls with North winning 11 of his 13 face offs.
Logan Gunderman picked up the victory in goal playing 30 minutes and making three saves.
Washington & Jefferson (2-3) was led by Zach Mey with four shots while
Stephen Moschetta made 13 saves.
Mount Union jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first quarter as all the goals came in the final 5:38 of the quarter. Then Mount Union out scored W&J 8-0 in the second quarter for a 14-0 halftime lead.
Over the final two quarters Mount Union outscored W&J 10-0 as Mount Union finished the shutout as the team made a total of eight saves in the game.
Mount Union now has a week off until it will play Nortland College on Saturday, March 8th at home with a 1 PM start time.
