ADA, Ohio—The Mount Union men's track and field team currently sits in first after day one of the Ohio Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships hosted by Ohio Northern.
Mount Union has a total of 65 points and leads the host Ohio Northern by 17.50 points as they currently have 47.50.
Colton Hanlon got the meet started for the Purple Raiders with an OAC Runner-Up spot in the pole vault jumping 15-feet .25-inches. Also scoring for Mount Union was
Mason Arth and
Cameron Nightingale finishing fifth and sixth.
The quartet of
Curtis Joppeck,
Alex Reese,
Ty Pratt and
Tyler Kohlmann finished OAC Runner-up in the Distance Medley Relay with a time of 10:22.81.
Isaac Pittman placed third in the 500-Meters with a time of 1:06.12 earning All-OAC honors while Pratt (5
th),
Mason Arth (7
th) and
Nick Scherson (8
th) rounded out the scoring for Mount Union.
Stephen Ulrich earned All-OAC honors with a third-place finish in the 5,000-Meters with a time of 15:04.87 while
Nick Wong placed fourth in the race.
Mount Union took spots five through eight in the 400-Meters with
Haden Gibson,
Calil McCray,
Brady Burrey and
Yahir Hill scoring for the Raiders.
Tex Malloy and
Eli Edwards picked up points in the long jump placing sixth and seventh.
Ryan McVicker picked up a sixth-place finish in the weight throw.
Qualifying to the finals in the 60-Meter dash was
Ryder Greenwood,
Brailon Wilcox and Malloy.
Day two of the OAC Track and Field Championships will start at 10 am for field events and 2:30 for field events in Ada, Ohio.
