Women's Track and Field: Raiders Shine at Jud Logan Light Giver Meet

ASHLAND, Ohio-- The Mount Union women's track and field team had four top 10 performances at a mostly Division I and II meet at the Jud Logan Light Giver Open meet hosted by Ashland University.
 
The quartet of Maddy Miles, Mary Mason, Halle Cochran, and Cora Liskai finished fourth overall and the first Division III team in the 4x400-Meter relay running a 3:55.90.
 
Gianini Venuto was the top Division III athlete and finished sixth overall in the 3,000-Meter run with a time of 10:04.78.  
 
Miles was the top Division III athlete along with Mason being second in the 400-Meters running 57.77 and 58.35 good for 15th and 22nd overall.
 
Makayla Sitzlar was the top Division III athlete in the shot put finishing 21st overall with a throw of 40-feet 3.25-inches.
 
Mackenzie Davis was ninth overall and second among the Division III athletes in the long jump with a leap of 17-feet 5.5-inches.
 
Jasmine Arnold finished ninth overall and the second Division III athlete with a time of 18:25.74 in the 5,000-Meters
 
Buzz Kline and Kenna Johnston finished 25th and 28th overall in the weight throw with tosses of 47-feet 3-inches and 45-feet 5-inches which was the second and third best Division III throws at the meet.
 
Becca Santom and Madeline Burgess were the top two Division III athletes in the triple jump with leaps of 33-feet 8.75-inches and 33-feet 4-inches which was 19th and 22nd overall.
 
Cochran was 18th overall and the second Division III athlete to finish in the 800-Meters with a time of 2:21.04.
 
Natasha Zahursky finished 23rd overall in the 60-Meter hurdles prelim with a time of 9.44 and was the third best Division III athlete.
 
A special shot out to our throws coach Abby Moore as she won the elite division in the shot put with a throw of 61-feet 5.5-inches which currently ranks her eighth in the world and third in the US.
 
Mount Union will head to Westerville next weekend for the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Otterbein on Saturday.
