ALLIANCE, Ohio-- Mount Union's men's lacrosse team dropped its Ohio Athletic Conference opener 19-6 to Ohio Northern Saturday afternoon.

Mount Union (6-2, 0-1 OAC) was led by
Talon Osmun (Mattawan, Mich. / Mattawan) with three goals.

Mark Zusman (Willoughby / Willoughby South),
Liam Erwin (Victor, N.Y. / Victor Senior) and
Braylon Li (Richfield / Revere) each scored a goal for Mount Union.

Dane Matuscin (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) led the way in ground balls with six while
Logan Gunderman (Buffalo, N.Y. / Hamburg) was in goal making six saves.

Ohio Northern (6-3, 1-0 OAC) was led by Caleb Bennett and Colin Willits with three goals each. Nathan Flynn led the way with five ground balls while Peyton Lich made eight saves in the 49 minutes he played in goal.

Ohio Northern took leads of 5-0 after the first quarter and 11-0 at the halftime break.

Mount Union responded in the third quarter with four goals but Ohio Northern also scored four goals. The final quarter saw Ohio Northern outscore Mount Union 4-2.

Mount Union will return to play next Wednesday in New Concord, Ohio taking on Muskingum at 7 PM.
