ALLIANCE, Ohio— The Mount Union women's tennis team won, 5-2, over Washington and Jefferson in a non-conference home match on Saturday.
Juniors Emily Peel (Green, Ohio/Green) and Amelia Francisco (Canfield, Ohio/Canfield) won no. 1 doubles, 6-4. Sophomore Emily Borchert (Richfield, Ohio/Holy Name) and freshman Jillian Lohnes (Alliance, Ohio/Alliance) earned the doubles win for Mount Union with a 6-4 win at no. 2.
Four Raiders won their respective singles matches, led by Francisco with a 6-1, 0-6, 6-4 win at no. 1. Also earning a singles win were Lohnes at no. 3, Borchert at no. 4, and freshman Hannah Neely (Hartville, Ohio / Lake) at no. 5.
The Purple Raiders will next host Geneva on Thursday, April 3, at 4 PM.
