WESTERVILLE, Ohio—Mount Union's men's lacrosse team fell 17-14 in a tough battle against Otterbein in Ohio Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders (8-4, 2-3 OAC) were led
Mark Zusman (Willoughby / Willoughby South) with four goals.
Talon Osmun (Mattawan, Mich. / Mattawan),
Liam Erwin (Victor, N.Y. / Victor Senior) and
Braylon Li (Richfield / Revere) each scored two goals with
Spencer Logsdon (Akron / Archbishop Hoban),
Grant Dunmire (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Hampton),
Alec Feigel (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills) and
Sly Sundown (Akron, N.Y. / Akron) each having one goal.
Logan North (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) picked up seven ground balls in the game as
Logan Gunderman (Buffalo, N.Y. / Hamburg) picked up the loss in net with 11 saves in 45 minutes of play.
Otterbein (6-5, 4-1 OAC) was led by Max Graham with four goals, Sam Becker with eight ground balls and Zach Courie in goal with eight saves.
Otterbein outscored Mount Union 6-5 in the first quarter but Mount Union came back outscoring Otterbein 5-3 in the second quarter taking a 10-9 lead into the halftime break.
A tie in the third quarter of three goals each gave Mount Union a 13-12 lead heading into the fourth quarter but a 5-1 last quarter for Otterbein was the difference in the game.
Mount Union will now head back home to host Marietta on Wednesday with a 7 PM start.
