MARIETTA, OHIO—The Mount Union women's lacrosse team beat Marietta 26-7 Wednesday night in Ohio Athletic Conference play.
The Purple Raiders (9-4, 4-1 OAC) were led by a nine-point night from
Eden Kesler (Chagrin Falls / Kenston) with six goals and three assists.
Ella Nejad (Rocky River) finished with five goals and two assists.
Mae Pawlikowski (Orchard Park, N.Y. / Orchard Park) and
Emily Funk (Strongsville) finished with three goals each,
Mackenzie Kolstad (Victor, N.Y. / Victor),
Haylee Handrahan (Hilliard), Emma Labee (Uniontown / Lake) and
Katie Clark (Hudson / Walsh Jesuit) finished with two goals and
Reese Fuenfstueck (Fairport, N.Y. / Fairport) had a goal.
Anna Weinel (Dayton / Chaminade-Julienne) finished with three caused turnovers, while
Abby Lindkvist (Greenlawn, N.Y. / Harborfields) finished with 12 saves in goal.
Marietta (4-10, 0-5 OAC) was led by Mallory Wiles with two goals while Abby May was in goal making five saves.
Mount Union jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the first quarter and a 13-7 lead at the halftime break. Mount Union then outscored Marietta 13-0 in the second half taking the 26-7 victory.
Mount Union will be on the road on Saturday heading to Grove City, Pa. with a 3 PM start time.
