ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mount Union football team has been nationally ranked by three different organizations heading into the 2025 season.

The Purple Raiders were nationally ranked No. 2 by: the Lindy's National College Football Magazine, D3football.com Top 25, and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) D3 Coaches Poll. In the D3football.com poll, Mount Union had one first-place vote.

The 13-time National Champion Purple Raiders won their 35th total (conference record) and eighth-straight Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) title last season, qualifying for the NCAA Tournament for the 35th time (an NCAA Division III record). Last season, Mount Union completed its 33rd undefeated regular season and appeared in its NCAA-record 23rd Stagg Bowl NCAA Championship. Mount Union was picked to win the league title in 2025 by the league's head coaches.

Mount Union starts the 2025 season on Saturday, September 6, at home against No. 17 Wheaton College at Kehres Stadium at 1 PM.
