WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Mount Union women's volleyball team dropped two matches Friday evening at the Worthington Classic hosted by Gallaudet University.
The first match Mount Union (6-6) fell to Whittier (7-1) in straight sets 25-15, 25-17 and 25-19.
Sadie Thomas led the way with eight kills,
DeLani Durst had 13 assists and
Averi Haley finished with 19 digs.
In the second match Mount Union fell to UC Santa Cruz (7-5) in five sets 25-23, 25-9, 26-28, 25-27 and 15-9.
Zoe Sweigart finished the match with 14 kills while Thomas and
Cami Welty finished with double digit kills with 11 and 10.
Durst along with
Allie Gunn finished with 22 and 18 assists with Haley led Mount Union with 26 digs while Thomas had 14 digs.
Mount Union gets to play another two tomorrow at Gallaudet taking on Mary Washington at 10 am and Franklin and Marshall at 2 pm.
