Mount Union has started its 128th season with back-to-back wins against nationally ranked opponents. The Purple Raiders defeated #17 Wheaton, 37-29, in week 1 and won 49-14 over #15 Grove City in week 2. The Raiders are coming off their bye week. Saturday's game will be Mount Union's Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) opener, while Baldwin Wallace has already played two conference games (W, 63-21 vs Wilmington and W, 44-7 at Capital) - winning both in addition to a non-conference season-opening win over Wittenberg (W, 31-13). It'll be the second straight season Mount Union will play at Baldwin Wallace in week 4 with both teams undefeated. Last season, Mount took care of business with a 52-14 win. Saturday will be the 63rd all-time meeting between the two schools, with Mount Union owning a 40-21-1 series record - including 29 straight wins and six shutouts. Its last loss against Baldwin Wallace was on Oct. 15, 1994 (L, 23-10). Saturday's game will feature the top two teams in the 2025 OAC Preseason Poll, as Mount Union was picked first with 64 points, followed by Baldwin Wallace in second with 55 points. Both teams are currently in the national polls, as the Raiders are ranked second and the Yellow Jackets are receiving votes.
