ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team lost to no. 4 nationally ranked Case Western Reserve 4-1 on Saturday evening.
The Spartans (9-0-1) would strike first when Maggie Farra found the back of the net in the 8
th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
The Purple Raiders (3-3-2) would answer just 19 seconds later when sophomore
Rylee Hutton (Salem) found senior
Madeline Boulos (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Deer Lake) to tie the game at a goal apiece.
Case Western would reclaim the lead in the 25
th minute, this time scoring off an Izzy Probst goal to take a 2-1 lead. They would then add another one in the 53
rd minute when Ceci Dapino was able to find the back of the net. The Spartans would then add a fourth and final goal in the 60
th minute this time scoring off a Jamie Goldfarb goal to extend the lead to three goals.
Mount Union wouldn't have an answer over the final 30 minutes of action as Case Western would go on to win 4-1.
The Raiders open up Ohio Athletic Conference play next when they host Otterbein on Saturday, October 4 at 7 p.m. in Kehres Stadium.
