BEREA, Ohio – Mount Union's men's soccer team would draw Baldwin Wallace 3-3 in Ohio Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening.
The Yellow Jackets (6-4-2, 0-0-2 OAC) would strike first, scoring just two and a half minutes into the game when Nath Gray found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. The game would then enter a lightning delay that lasted around an hour.
The Purple Raiders (5-3-4, 1-0-1 OAC) would find the equalizer just before halftime when senior
Alex Depperschmidt (Mansfield / Lexington) scored to tie the game at one goal apiece. Mount Union would then claim their first lead of the game in the 58
th minute when freshman
Cameron Smith (Tipp City / Tippecanoe) was able to find the back of the net to take a 2-1 lead. The Raiders would add to that lead in the 66
th minute when Depperschmidt scored his second goal of the game to extend the lead to two goals.
Baldwin Wallace would cut into the lead in the 79
th minute when Randy Jamieson was able to find the back of the net to trim the lead to a goal. Then, in the 82
nd minute Jamieson would score his second goal of the game to tie the game at three goals apiece.
Neither team would be able to break the tie over the remainder of the game as they would go on to tie 3-3.
The Raiders hit the road next when they travel to Columbus on Saturday, October 10 to continue OAC play against Capital at 1 p.m.
