VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Mount Union's women's golf team finished in sixth place at the Anita Hobson Invitational at Cypress Point Country Club to kickoff their spring season.
The Purple Raiders finished with a team score of 707 (349-358) which was just two strokes back of fifth place SUNY Cortland. Southern Virginia won the event with a team score of 645 (310-335).
Junior
Emma Packard (Ashland) led the way for Mount Union with a 36-hole score of 171 (86-85), with junior
Larisa Golembiewski (Macedonia / Nordonia) finishing with a 178 (82-96). Junior
Amanda Fedor (Uniontown / Lake) and junior
Kamil Stephens (Marblehead / Danbury) rounded out the Raiders team score, shooting 181 (91-90) and 186 (99-87) respectively.
The Raiders return to action on Saturday, March 28 for the first round of the UC Santa Cruz Invitational at Pacific Grove C.C. in Pacific Grove, Calif.
