ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Mount Union men's tennis team won convincingly, 6-1, over Wittenberg on Senior Day on Wednesday.
Prior to the match, senior
Elliott Warner (New Philadelphia / New Philadelphia) was recognized.
Warner and sophomore
Nick Sziraky (Uniontown / Green) won No. 1 doubles in dramatic fashion, 7-6 (7-5). Warner also won No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2.
Junior
Andrew Cavett (Beaver, Pa. / Beaver Area) and freshman
Carson Arfaras (Canfield / Canfield) won No. 2 doubles, 6-2. Cavett won No. 3 singles, 7-5, 6-1, and Arfaras won No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-2.
Mount Union improved to 9-8 overall, while the Tigers dropped to 2-10 overall.
The Raiders next play Saturday, April 18, at Baldwin Wallace with a 1 p.m. start.
