WESTERVILLE, Ohio—The Mount Union baseball team had a total of eight players earn a spot on the 2026 All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) team, including five on the All-OAC First Team.
30th-year Head Coach
Paul Hesse was named the Co-Don Schaly OAC Coach of the Year (along with Muskingum's Jake Krupar) for his fourth career OAC Coach of the Year honor and second straight (2026, 2025, 2017, 2013).
Earning All-OAC First Team were senior right fielder
Chris Tsouras (Las Vegas, NV / Arbor), junior pitcher
Ty Dennison (Hudson, OH / Hudson), junior utility
Luke Ickes (Green, OH / Green), junior third baseman
Drew Denham (Alliance, OH / Marlington), and sophomore shortstop
Daniel Tome III (Cleveland, OH / St. Edwards).
Earning All-OAC Second Team were junior designated hitter
Trevor Szekely (Canal Fulton, OH / Northwest), junior outfielder
Brycen Fox (Hamilton, OH / Badin), and junior pitcher
Christopher Maurer (Hudson, OH / Hudson). The all-conference honor is Fox's second of his career (honorable mention in 2025) and the first for both Szekely and Maurer.
Hesse led the Purple Raiders to their second-straight OAC Regular-Season title with a 14-2 conference record, and Mount Union's 31 wins this season have tied a program record. The Raiders were ranked 8th in the nation, the highest ranking ever in program history.
Tsouras, earning his second-straight All-OAC First Team selection, led the team in RBIs (53) and home runs (11). Dennison, earning his first career All-OAC selection, has an undefeated record at 9-0 and leads the OAC in strikeouts with 110, breaking a school record for strikeouts in a season. Ickes, picking up his first career First Team honor (second for career Second Team in 2025), is 6-1 on the mound and batted. 315 with 23 RBIs at the plate. Denham, earning his first career All-OAC honor, led Mount Union with a .421 batting average, to go along with 42 RBIs. Tome, picking up his first career First Team honor (second for career Second Team in 2025), was second on the team with 52 RBIs, batting .394.
