INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The Mount Union baseball team, under the leadership of 30th-year head coach
Paul Hesse, has earned one of the 23 NCAA at-large bids into the 64-team 2026 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship Tournament announced on Monday.
The Purple Raiders will travel to Salisbury, Maryland, to play the Hobart Statesmen on Friday, May 15, at 1:30 p.m.
It will be a four-team double elimination bracket hosted by Salisbury University, with the host No. 7 Seagulls (32-9) taking on Bridgewater State (30-8) in the other opening round game.
Mount Union enters the field with a 31-10 record, tying the most wins in a season in program history. The Raiders are making their third trip (second straight) to the NCAA Tournament (2026, 2025, 2013). The Purple Raiders were ranked 11th in the latest American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Coaches Poll.
Hobart is making just its second NCAA appearance and first since 1992. The Statesmen are 30-13 and were the runners-up in the Liberty League Tournament. Ranked 46th in the final NCAA Power Index, Hobart was the second-to-last team into the field.
The Statesmen and Purple Raiders were originally scheduled to open the season against each other in Fayetteville, North Carolina, but the contest was cancelled due to the weather.
Ticket Information: General admission tickets are $10 for a single session and $25 for a weekend pass. Senior citizens are $7/$15, and college students and children are $5/$10. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate beginning one hour before the game.
