Baseball: No. 11 Raiders Advance to Winners Bracket of OAC Tournament, Tie School Record for Wins in a Season

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The top-seeded Mount Union baseball team (31-8) utilized a high-powered offense and another strong outing from junior pitcher Ty Dennison (Hudson, OH / Hudson) to secure a 10-6 victory over the fourth-seed Muskingum (19-20) in the opening round of the 2026 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament.

Mount Union's 31 victories tie the 2017 team for the most wins in a season in program history.

Dennison (9-0) continued his undefeated campaign, tossing 8.1 innings and allowing four earned runs while striking out six.

The Purple Raider offense backed him with a 15-hit performance, led by a three-run home run from Chris Tsouras (Las Vegas, NV / Arbor), his team-leading 111th, and two doubles by each junior Trevor Szekely (Canal Fulton, OH / Northwest) and sophomore Daniel Tome III (Cleveland, OH / St. Edwards).

Muskingum took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, before Mount Union went ahead 4-2 from the three-run blast by Tsouras in the third inning and never looked back.

The Purple Raiders will play second-seeded Baldwin Wallace tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. for a trip to the OAC Championship game. Muskingum will play Ohio Northern tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. in an elimination game.
