LEXINGTON, Ky. – Mount Union's men's soccer team lost a non-conference matchup 6-2 against Transylvania on Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders (1-2-1) would strike first when junior
Amir Spratt (Kent / Kent Roosevelt) found the back of the net off an assist from senior
Alex Depperschmidt (Mansfield / Lexington) to take a 1-0 lead in the 23
rd minute.
The Pioneers (3-1) would answer with a goal of their own in the 27
th minute when Gus Dickman scored to tie the game up at a goal apiece.
Mount Union would reclaim the lead in the 42
nd minute this time junior
Keegan White (Columbus / Olentangy) scored off an assist from sophomore
Matt Caputo (Hudson) to take a 2-1 lead heading to the halftime break.
Transylvania would then come out to score five unanswered goals in the second half with goals coming from Reece Heisel, Stone Work, Kellen Crouch and Dickman as they would go on to win 6-2.
The Raiders return home next when they host Franciscan on Tuesday, September 15 at 7 p.m. at Kehres Stadium in Alliance.
