VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Mount Union's men's soccer team defeated Batten 1-0 in a non-conference matchup on Sunday afternoon.
After 80 scoreless minutes the Purple Raiders (3-3-1) were able to break the tie when senior
Alex Depperschmidt (Mansfield / Lexington) found the back of the net off an assist from fellow senior
Dom Kustura (Willowick / Eastlake North) to take a 1-0 lead in the 81
st minute.
The Marlins (1-1-4) would be unable to find the equalizer over the final 10 minutes of action as Mount Union would go on to win 1-0.

Enio Hoxha (Akron / Copley) recorded three saves in his second shutout victory of the season.
The Raiders return home next when they host Penn State-Behrend on Wednesday, September 23 at 7 p.m. as the second part of a men's and women's soccer doubleheader in Alliance.
