CRESSON, Pa. – Mount Union's men's soccer team played Mount Aloysius to a 3-3 draw in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders (3-3-3) would strike first when junior
Amir Spratt (Kent / Kent Roosevelt) scored off an assist from junior
Caleb Carney (Charleston, W.Va. / George Washington) to take a 1-0 lead in the 10
th minute.
The Mounties (1-5-3) would answer with a goal of their own in the 19
th minute when Gonzalo Terricabris scored to tie the game at a goal apiece.
Mount Union would reclaim the lead the 38
th minute when freshman
Brayden Sutton (Sylvania / Sylvania Northview) found the back of the net off an assist from fellow freshman
Joseph Preston (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Pittsburgh Science & Technology Academy). Then, in the 69
th minute Spratt would score his second goal of the game, this time off an assist from junior
Keegan White (Columbus / Olentangy) to push the lead to two goals.
Mount Aloysius would cut into the lead in the 72
nd minute when Terricabris was able to net his second goal of the game to trim the lead to just a goal. The Mounties would then find the equalizing goal in the 86
th minute, this time scoring off a goal from Martin Donner, tying the game at three goals apiece.
Neither team would be able to find the back of the net over the remainder of the game as they would go on to tie 3-3.
The Raiders are on the road again next when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. to take on La Roche on Wednesday, September 30 at 4 p.m.
