OBERLIN, Ohio – Mount Union's women's soccer team defeated Oberlin 2-0 in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders (4-3) struck first when junior
Rylee Hutton (Salem) was able to find the back of the net in the 10
th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Mount Union would add to that lead in the 88
th minute when senior
Ella Dinwiddie (Medina / Wadsworth) scored off an assist from Hutton to extend the lead to two goals.
Oberlin (3-4-1) wouldn't be able to answer over the remainder of the game as the Raiders would go on to win 2-0.
Junior goalkeeper
Leanne Williams (Poland / Poland Seminary) recorded four saves en route to her second straight shutout victory and third shutout of the season.
The Raiders are on the road again next when they travel to Cresson, Pa. to take on Mount Aloysius on Tuesday, September 29 at 6 p.m.
