WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Mount Union women's volleyball team swept its way through day two of the Worthington Classic hosted by Gallaudet University Saturday afternoon.
Mount Union picked up its 12
th straight victory which is the longest streak for the Purple Raiders since the 2023 season which saw Mount Union rattle off 12 straight.
The Purple Raiders (14-2) swept the hosts in Gallaudet (7-4) 25-22, 25-11 and 25-19.
Mount Union was led by junior
Zoe Sweigart (Canal Winchester) with 13 kills while senior
Molly McKee (North Ridgeville) finished with eight.
Sophomore
DeLani Durst (Clyde) finished with 15 assists while junior
Anna Mihacevich () had 12.
Senior
Averi Haley (Orrville) finished with a game-high 17 digs while McKee and senior
Ava Bolen (Wellsburg, W. Va. / Brooke) each had three blocks for the Raiders.
In the second match of the day Mount Union swept Arcadia (10-4) 25-22, 25-23 and 26-24 to finish the day off.
Sweigart led the way for Mount Union with 13 kills once again while Bolen and Thomas each had eight kills.
Durst and Mihacevich finished with 18 and 17 assists while Haley and Durst had double digits with 19 and 12 respectively.
Mount Union will now head into conference play taking on No. 20 nationally ranked Otterbein.
