Men's Golf: Raiders Compete at Transylvania Invite and Wooster Gatorade Collegiate

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Mount Union's men's golf team finished in second place following the first 36 holes at the Transylvania Fall Invitational at Big Blue G.C on Saturday afternoon.

The Purple Raiders finished with a team score of 578 (286-292) which is just seven shots back of the leader Webster who has a team score of 571 (290-281).

Sophomore Jase Libb (Beloit / West Branch) led the way for Mount Union, finishing with a 140 (71-69), which has him sitting in fourth place overall. Senior Brian Myers (Wadsworth) finished with a 141 (67-74), which also has him in the top five overall, as he is tied for fifth. Freshmen duo Tyler Pickard (Broadview Heights / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) and Brett Epple (Streetsboro) rounded out the Raiders team score with a 146 (74-72) and 151 (74-77) respectively.

The Raiders also had a team competing at the Wooster Gatorade Collegiate, they finished in a tie for sixth place following round one at Zoar Village G.C. on Saturday afternoon.

The Raiders finished with a team score of 298, which is just one shot back of fifth place Wooster. Mount Aloysius leads the event with a team score of 284.

Junior Vincent Borros (Strongsville) led the way for Mount Union by carding a 71 which has him in a tie for fifth overall. Junior John Back (Massillon / Tuslaw) and freshman Colten Smith (Hubbard) both finished with a 75, while freshman Michael Fahey (Wadsworth) rounded out the Raiders team score with a 77.
