CJ Edwards enters his first year on the Mount Union football coaching staff as the running backs coach for the 2022 season.
A 2016 Mount Union graduate, Edwards was the offensive assistant and running backs coach at Lake Erie College in 2022, following two seasons at Revere High School where he served as the defensive coordinator and running backs coach in 2021 and the wide receiver and defensive backs coach in 2020. He also served as the varsity assistant wrestling coach.
Prior to Revere, Edwards coached at his alma mater, Wadsworth High School for two seasons, and spent two years as an intervention specialist in the school district. He also spent five years teaching special education in Plant City, Florida.
Prior to starting his coaching career, Edwards wrestled at Mount Union and earned his bachelor's degree in early childhood education. In his high school career, Edwards was a three-year letterman in football and a starter on the 2011 Wadsworth football team that finished in the state final four.
