The University of Mount Union hired Ross Weyandt as the Director of Sport Performance and Head Strength & Conditioning Coach within the Department of Athletics on August 1, 2024.

Weyandt will oversee the strength and conditioning program for all 25 varsity Mount Union teams. He most recently was the assistant director of strength and conditioning at NCAA Division III Eastern University in St. David's, PA.

"Ross Weyandt's passion for strength and conditioning is evident and we are excited to have him on staff," said Director of Athletics Mike Parnell. "Having a strength and conditioning coach for all 25 sports will allow all of our student-athletes to compete at their highest ability and contend for championships."

Weyandt, who was promoted full-time in 2022, concluded his fourth year on the Eastern staff. He was the lead strength and conditioning coach for football, men's and women's soccer, field hockey, women's basketball, and men's and women's golf.

"I am thrilled to join the Mount Union community and work alongside its talented athletes and dedicated coaches," Weyandt said. "I look forward to building relationships that will enhance the championship standards that are already in place. Assisting in the physical and mental preparation of our athletes and teams is a responsibility I take seriously and am deeply passionate about. I cannot wait to share that passion with the Mount Union family this year."

Weyandt earned a Bachelor's in Exercise Science at NCAA Division I Kent State University, while working in the athletic department, and his MBA in Organizational Leadership at Eastern. He is certified as a strength and conditioning coach with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is certified with USA Weightlifting. Additionally, he received his Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) certification from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association. Weyandt enjoys competing in CrossFit competitions and mountain biking.
