Erika Warren entered her first season as an assistant coach with the Mount Union softball team in the fall of 2021. Warren’s main responsibilities include working with the Raiders pitchers, hitters, and defense, calling pitches, and recruiting.

In the 2022 season, Warren worked with pitcher, Alyssa Rose who was named OAC Player of the Year and First Team All-American, Grace Heath.

Along with coaching at Mount Union, Warren owns Resilience-E Athletics LLC where she provides private and group softball instruction and runs camps and clinics.

Prior to Mount, Warren Coached at Walsh University during the 20’ and 21’ seasons helping the Cavaliers improve their record from 9-37 (19’) to 22-20 in (21’). The 20’ Cavaliers were off to a good start (10-5 record), when their season was cut short due to COVID-19. At Walsh, Warren managed the pitchers and catchers, called pitches, and worked with both the defense and offense. Catcher, Jessie Rock became the programs all-time leader in home runs (21’) and went on to be GMAC Player of the Year in the 22’ season.

From 2017-2019 Warren spent her time coaching at Youngstown State while earning her master’s degree in Health and Human Services (19’). During her time at YSU, Warren focused her time on pitchers and catchers while calling pitches. In her first season with the Penguins, Warren mentored Paige Geanangel and Elle Buffenbarger to 12 and 10 wins, respectively. Buffenbarger was named All-Horizon League Second-Team and All-Freshman Team and struck out 132 batters, which ranked third in the Horizon League and fifth on the YSU single-season list. Geanangel won seven games and posted a 2.14 earned-run average in Horizon League play. 

In the 2019 season, freshmen pitcher, Addy Jarvis was named Horizon League Player of the Year with an overall ERA of 2.58 then went on to play at the University of Illinois.

Prior to YSU, Warren spent a season as an assistant coach at Indiana Tech, where she worked with Tech’s catchers, coordinated team travel, prepared and executed practice plans, collaborated on hitting approaches and defensive game plans and served as the head coach of Indiana Tech’s reserve team.

Warren also spent four years as an assistant coach for the Beverly, Ill., Bandits PGF 18HS Travel Softball Team from 2012-16. Serving as the pitching and catching coach, Warren managed both the pitchers and catchers in games and practices and called pitches during games. Several of Warren’s players went on to play at Division I schools like Oregon, Washington, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame and Michigan.

A native of North Canton, Ohio, Warren helped lead Hoover High School to two State Championships in 2011 and 2012. Warren went on to be a four-year letterwinner and starter at catcher for Kent State from 2012-16. She started 168 games and called pitches for games, which included managing/catching a pitching staff in 2015 with a team ERA of 1.55. While at Kent State, the Flashes won back-to-back Mid-American Conference Championships (2015, 2016) and a MAC East Division title in 2014. Warren was named an NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete and All-Academic MAC in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and garnered Honorable-Mention All-MAC honors as a senior.

She also worked with NPF standout, two-time NFCA Second-Team All-Region pick and four-time all-conference performer Emma Johnson and NFCA First-Team All-Region selection Ronnie Ladines while playing at Kent State.

Warren graduated from Kent State in 2016 with a degree in sports administration and had a minor in business.
