Meghan Simons is in her 11th season as the head softball coach at the University of Mount Union.
In her ten seasons as head coach, she has led the team to nine winning seasons, four OAC Regular Season titles in 2021, 2023, 2024, 2026, two OAC Tournament title in 2023 and 2025 and four NCAA tournament appearances in 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. In 2020 the Purple Raiders got off to their best start in school history at 12-2 before the season was stopped due to the CoVID-19 outbreak, then in 2023 the Raiders tied the program record for wins in a season with 38 and made it to the Regional Championship game in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. In 2026, Mount Union would win their first Regional and Super Regional Championships in program history and advanced to their first ever NCAA Division III College World Series.
In her tenure, the program has had three All-Americans, three OAC Player of the Years, four OAC Rookie of the Years, three OAC Pitcher of the Years and 53 All-OAC selections.
Simons was a four-year letterwinner for the Purple Raiders who graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 2010.
Currently, she holds Mount Union records for most doubles in a season (20). She has served as assistant softball coach for three years at Mount Union and as the head coach at Minerva High School.
Meghan and her two sons, George and Walter, reside in Alliance.
