Mount Union (14-19, 6-10 OAC) dropped both ends of a
doubleheader at Otterbein (24-7, 11-3 OAC) on Saturday, April 28 at
Fischbaugh Field in Westerville, Ohio. The Raiders fell 5-1 and
5-3.
In game one, the Raiders got on the board first with a single
run in the first inning, however, Otterbein came back with two in
the third and three in the fourth.
Tommy Kerr (2-2) took the loss for Mount Union while Dan
Remonowsky (6-0) picked up the win for the Cardinals.
Shorstop Josh Faltot drove in the lone Raider run and also stole
a base.
Otterbein jumped out first in the nightcap, scoring five runs in
the first three innings of play. The Raiders generated single runs
in the third, fifth, and seventh, falling short by a score of
5-3.
Faltot led the Raider offense, finishing the contest 2-for-3
with two RBI.
Shawn Kerek (6-3) recorded his seventh complete game of the year
in the losing effort while Doug Stevens (5-3) got the win for
Otterbein.
The Raiders close out the season next weekend, on Saturday, May
5 versus Wilmington. Doubleheader action from Alliance, Ohio is set
to begin at 1 p.m.
