Mount Union College's baseball team (11-6) fell by a score of
6-2 to Thiel College (11-7) on Wednesday, April 2 at Thurman Munson
Stadium in Canton, Ohio.
The Raiders jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a RBI single by
junior/first baseman Cory Slaybaugh in the bottom of the first
inning.
Thiel pitching would then hold the Purple and White in check as
they put up six runs to give them the lead 6-1 going in to the
bottom of the ninth inning.
Mount Union would only add one more run on a sacrifice fly by
junior/third baseman Nate McFarland to cut the lead to 6-2, but
could get no closer.
Mount Union will resume OAC play on Saturday, April 5 as it hosts
Capital for a doubleheader. The first pitch is scheduled for 1
p.m.
