BLUFFTON, Ohio—The Mount Union volleyball team cruised to straight set win over Earlham (Ind.) before falling in straight sets to host Bluffton Saturday afternoon in a tri-match Saturday afternoon. The Purple Raiders (17-5) saw their nine-match winning streak come to an end in defeat.

Earlham proved to be no match for the Purple Raiders in the first match of the day, falling 25-10, 25-10, 25-17. The Purple Raiders then fell to Bluffton, 22-25, 22-25, 23-25.

Taylor Webb (Geneva/Geneva) led Mount Union with 11 kills against Earlham. Rachel Adolph (Findlay/Van Buren) added eight kills in the victory.

Webb also led the team in kills against Bluffton, this time with ten. Maya Brown (Tiffin/Tiffin Columbian) and Melanie Patterson (Mentor/Lake Catholic) contributed eight kills apiece. Kristen Gromes (Navarre/Fairless) had 15 digs, followed by Allison Insana (Cleveland/Villa Angela-Saint Joseph) with eight digs and Julie Radigan (Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls) with seven digs. Radigan paced the Purple Raiders with 25 assists.

Mount Union will host John Carroll in an Ohio Athletic Conference match Tuesday night at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance.
