PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The No. 13 ranked Mount Union women's basketball team finished the game on a 6-0 run and scored a 55-49 victory over Case Western Reserve in the first game of the DoubleTree Classic at Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) Friday night in Pittsburgh.

Mount Union (2-0) led 25-24 at the half and took a 43-32 lead on a Kori Wiedt (North Olmsted/North Olmsted) layup with 10 minutes left.

Case Western Reserve (1-1) then rallied to tied the game at 49-49 with 1:27 left in the game.

Rosa LaMattina (Westlake/Westlake) scored four of the final six points of the game for the Purple Raiders as she finished with a team-high 12 points.

Amanda Rose (Green/Green) was the only other Raider with 11 points.

Evy Iacono led the Spartans with a game-high 14 points.

Mount Union plays tournament host Carnegie Mellon Saturday at 4 pm.
