ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's tennis team swept Capital, 9-0, in Ohio Athletic Conference action on Friday in the Peterson Fieldhouse.
Krissy Hallett (Willoughby Hills/Willoughby South) led the way with her No. 1 singles victory over Elizabeth McLaughlin, 6-1, 6-1.
Also for the Raiders, Megan Czuchra (Mantua/Crestwood) won at second singles against Michelle Guy, 6-1, 6-3; Courtney Adamsky (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia) bested Meredith Wedell at No. 3 singles, 7-5, 6-2; and Lauren Olivier (Chagrin Falls/Walsh Jesuit) defeated Collyn Weaver at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Carolann Sterkenburg (Geneva/Geneva) and Alicia Kasunic (Kirtland/Andrews Osborne Academy) added wins at fifth and sixth singles, respectively. Sterkenburg handled Colleen Hooks, 6-4, 6-1, and Kasunic got past Rana Eadah, 6-0, 6-1.
In pairs competition, Hallett and Czuchra teamed for an 8-2 win over Guy and McLaughlin in the No. 1 match.
At No. 2 doubles, Adamsky and Olivier defeated Weaver and Wedell, 8-2. Sterkenburg and Kasunic won the third singles match against Hooks and Eadah, 8-3.
The Purple Raiders will wrap up their regular season next Saturday with a 1 p.m. OAC match at Ohio Northern.
