NEW CONCORD, Ohio -- The Mount Union women's tennis team swept singles play en route to a 7-2 Ohio Athletic Conference victory over Muskingum on Saturday.
Lauren Olivier (Chagrin Falls/Walsh Jesuit) and Carolann Sterkenburg (Geneva/Geneva) helped the Purple Raiders win points in both singles and doubles action. The two paired for an 8-1 decision at second doubles over Ally Thomas and Cheyenne Davidson.
Olivier won the No. 3 singles match over Thomas, 6-0, 6-3, and Sterkenburg bested Davidson, 6-4, 6-0.
In other singles play, Krissy Hallett (Willoughby Hills/Willoughby Hills) defeated Ally Ferrin at first singles, 6-0, 6-1; Courtney Adamsky (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia) handled Lindsay Mullen at second singles, 6-1, 6-1; Alicia Kasunic (Kirtland/Andrews Osborne Academy) won at fifth singles over Cassandra Sarver, 6-3, 6-4; and Rachel Amabeli (Alliance/West Branch) was victorious against Libby Johnson, 6-4, 6-4.
The Raiders (6-5, 3-0) will be in action next on Tuesday when they host Baldwin-Wallace for a 3:30 p.m. match.
