Box Score MARIETTA, Ohio -- Mount Union's baseball season ended with a 7-1 loss to John Carroll at the 2011 Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Friday afternoon at Don Schaly Stadium in Marietta.
The Purple Raiders, who were back in the tournament for the first time since 2008, end their season with a 17-20 record, while John Carroll (19-19) advances to face Heidelberg in an elimination game tonight at 7 pm.
John Carroll pitchers Tony Evanko and Robbie Bellusci combined to hold Mount Union to one run on six hits. Evanko started and allowed four hits over the first five innings to get the win, while Bellusci surrendered two hits over the final four innings to pick up the save.
At the plate, Patrick Stone hit a three-run home run and John Hastings had two hits, drove in two runs and hit a solo home run to lead the Streaks
The Raiders run came from an RBI single from Matt Tracy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) in the seventh.
Tracy was one of seven seniors along with Greg Ferrell (Uniontown/Green), Ty Wood (Hudson/Hudson), Matt Lambert (Massillon/Massillon Washington), Cody Colly (Massillon/Massillon Washington), Kyle Moles (Silver Lake/Cuyahoga Falls) and Britt Williams (Canton/Massillon Jackson) that played their final game today.
