WOOSTER, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's tennis team opened the 2011-12 season with a 5-4 win against The College of Wooster in a match played at the Central Tennis & Fitness Club in Wooster.
The Purple Raiders fell behind 2-1 in doubles play with the lone victory coming at No. 2 doubles from junior Courtney Adamsky (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia) and sophomore Megan Czuchra (Mantua/Crestwood).
Mount Union then won four of the six singles matches including a straight set victory at No. 4 singles by Hannah Arvidson (North Canton/GlenOak).
Mount Union is on the road again next Friday, Sept. 30 in Latrobe, Pa. against St. Vincent (Pa.).
