EASTLAKE, Ohio --Mount Union women's tennis team was defeated 8-1 at Case Western on Friday afternoon Oct. 5th.
With the loss, the Purple Raiders fall to 1-2, while the Spartans improve to 2-0. This was the last match for both teams in the fall season, and both will resume matches in the spring.
Mount Union finished the season with a 9-9 overall record in singles, and 3-6 in doubles.
Sophomore Taylor Dowling (Canton/Massillon Jackson) forced a third set in her singles match, but ultimately ended up losing (6-7, 6-1,1-0).
Freshman Megan Reichert (Ashtabula/Lakeside) recorded the only point for the Raiders when she won her singles match 6-3, 6-1, and ended the season with an overall record of 2-0.
Senior Courtney Adamsky (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia) and sophomore MacKenzie Jenkins (North Hampton/Northwestern) both ended their fall season with a 2-1 record in singles.
Adamsky went 2-0 in the number five singles position on the season, Jenkins went 2-0 in the number four singles position for the season, and Reichert went 2-0 in the number six singles position for the season.
