ADA, Ohio -- No. 7 ranked Mount Union clinched at least a share of its second straight Ohio Athletic Conference regular season title with a 72-68 win Saturday at Ohio Northern.

With score tied at 65 with 2:28 to play, junior point guard Rosa LaMattina (Westlake/Westlake) scored four-straight points as part of her game-high 22 points to lead the Purple Raiders (22-1, 15-1 OAC) to their 17th consecutive victory.

LaMattina was one of four Mount Union players in double figures as senior guard Kori Wiedt (North Olmsted/North Olmsted) had 12 while senior forward Amanda Rose (Green/Green) and junior guard Tierney Allen (Alliance/Alliance) each had 11.

Morgan Dumbaugh had 16 points off the bench for Ohio Northern (19-4, 13-3 OAC).

Northern led by as many as nine points in the first half, 25-16, before Mount Union rallied to finish the half on a 12-2 run to take a 28-27 lead at the half.

The Raiders would extend the lead to as many as 10 points, 45-35 after a Wiedt three-pointer with 15:51 to play.  Ohio Northern then scored 10-straight to tie the game and eventually led 63-56 with 5:30 left.

Mount Union then went on a 9-2 surge to set up LaMattina's heroics.

The win also clinches the Raiders the No. 1 seed in the OAC Tournament and with a new format in 2012, Mount Union gets a double-bye to a semifinal game that will be hosted in Alliance on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 7:30 pm.

The Raiders close the regular season with a road game Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 pm at Baldwin-Wallace then host Heidelberg Saturday, Feb. 18 at 3 pm in Alliance.
