Hilton Head, S.C.—The Mount Union women's tennis team suffered a narrow defeat to Roanoke (Va.), 5-4, Monday in Hilton Head, S.C.

The Purple Raiders (3-2) split the six singles, but only were only able to win one of the doubles.

Courtney Adamsky (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia) was the lone Raider that was victorious in both singles and doubles competition. Adamsky defeated Jennifer Antoszyk, 6-2, 6-0, in No. 4 singles and paired with Taylor Dowling (Canton/Jackson) to take third doubles over Brianna Carroll and Haley Goodes, 8-4.

Also earning wins for the Raiders were Megan Czuchra (Mantua/Crestwood), who picked up a victory in No. 4 singles over Goodes, 6-1, 6-2, and MacKenzie Jenkins (North Hampton/Northwestern) defeated Lauren Marszal, 6-1, 6-0, in sixth singles.

Mount Union's next match will be Tuesday at 12:30 pm against Alvernia (Pa.).
