ALLIANCE, Ohio—The Mount Union's women's tennis team appears to be one of the hottest teams in the Ohio Athletic Conference entering next week's conference tournament. After a 9-0 win over Marietta on Monday, the Purple Raiders (12-6, 5-3 OAC) have won not only won three consecutive matches, but each of those victories came in a 9-0 sweep of their opponent.
Junior Courtney Adamsky (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia) did not lose a single point in leading the way for the Raiders. Adamsky defeated Sarah Snow, 6-0, 6-0, in No. 5 singles and teamed with Taylor Dowling (Canton/Massillon Jackson) for an 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles over Snow and Natalie Turner.
Freshman Mandy Wise (North Canton/Hoover) lost just one point during the match. Wise also recorded a 6-0, 6-0 singles victory in beating Cate Gisser at second singles. She paired with fellow freshman Hannah Arvidson (North Canton/GlenOak) to top Lauren Bush and Jamie Taylor at second doubles, 8-1.
Senior Krissy Hallett (Willoughby Hills/Willoughby South) won both of her matches for 102 career victories, which is tied for the third most in school history.
Mount Union ends the regular season on a three-match winning streak and awaits this weekend's results to determine their opponent in the OAC Tournament. The Purple Raiders will host in the opening round as either the No. 3 or No. 4 seed.
