The Mount Union women's soccer team travels to Marietta in an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) match-up against the Marietta Pioneers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

The Purple Raiders improved upon their best season start in school history to 8-2-1, 1-0-0, when they defeated Ohio Northern, for the first time in a decade, 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Mount Union. The last victory over the Polar Bears came on Oct. 11, 2003, when Mount Union won 5-4 in Alliance.
The Pioneers (2-8-0, 0-1-0), are coming into Tuesdays match having lost to Heidelberg 0-2 in OAC opener on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Tiffin.
Shannon Evans (Newbury/ Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) leads the Raiders with seven goals on the season. Evans sits in a three way tie for most goals in the conference with Heather Keller of Baldwin Wallace and Hilary Ells of Capital.
Mount Union leads the overall series against Marietta 15-8-2. The Raiders defeated the Pioneers 3-1 in last years meeting, as Evans and Kolbie Hanies (Hudson/Hudson) each had a goal in the 3-1 victory.
Following Tuesdays match, the Raiders remain on the road when they travel to Wilmington, Ohio, on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7:00 p.m. in Wilimington, Ohio.
