The Mount Union women's soccer team looks to kick off its 2013 campaign at the Bethany (W.Va.) College Tournament this weekend (Aug. 30-31).
The opener for the Raiders is on Friday (Aug. 30) against Oberlin. Game time from Bethany is set for 3:00 p.m. It is the first game of the 2013 season for both teams.
The Purple Raiders look to expand upon last seasons 11 wins, matching school-record for wins in a season. Oberlin looks to a fresh start with new head coach Dan Palmer. The last time Mount Union and Oberlin met was Sept. 13, 2011, when Mount Union defeated the Yeowomen 1-0.
The Raider's conclude the weekend with a Saturday afternoon (1:00 p.m.) match against host Bethany. This will be the first meeting between the two teams.
Following Saturday's match, the Raiders will remain on the road as they travel to Fredonia State (N.Y.) for the 2013 Blue Devil Clarion Classic (Sept. 6-7).
