Box Score WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- Mount Union's women's soccer team scored a 2-0 shutout at Waynesburg in the final non-conference game of the season Saturday in Waynesburg, Pa.
Mount Union is 7-2-1 after the win while Waynesburg falls to 3-4 on the season.
Shannon Evans (Newbury/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) started the scoring with a goal in the 13th minute as the Purple Raiders would lead 1-0 at the break.
Allison Fouss (Lowell/Marietta) would put the game away with a score in the 81st minute.
The back and forth game included 17 shots for Mount Union and 14 for Waynesburg but Raider keeper Maria Favorite (Chesterland/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) had seven saves as she notched her sixth shutout of the season.
Mount Union opens Ohio Athletic Conference play next Saturday at 1 pm against Ohio Northern at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance.
