ALLIANCE, Ohio-- The Mount Union women's soccer team hosts Heidelberg for their Kick for the Cure game Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7 pm at the Mount Union Stadium in Alliance.

In their annual Kick for the Cure game the Purple Raiders will be taking donations for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In addition, they will be raffling off baskets, selling t-shirts and baked goods. There will be a 50/50 raffle and fans can participate in a halftime contest. Fans are encouraged to join the team after the game for a Survivor photograph and to sign the "In Honor Of" poster.
SCOUTING MOUNT UNION
The Purple Raiders are 8-5 overall and 1-3 in the OAC after being shutout by Baldwin Wallace 1-0 Wednesday.
Junior Kelsey Malenic (Poland/Poland Seminary) leads the Raiders and is tied for fourth in the conference in scoring with six goals. Freshman Katie Goedecke (Cuyahoga Falls/St. Vincent-St. Mary) leads the team with three assists on the season.
Senior goal keeper Maria Favorite (Chesterland/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) leads the Raiders and is third in the conference in saves, posting 81 saves in 1138:26 minutes of play and has started all 13 games in the net.
SCOUTING HEIDELBERG
The Student Princes are 3-10-1 overall and 0-4 in the OAC after being defeated by John Carroll 1-0 Wednesday.
Christina Neal leads Heidelberg with 10 points (4G, 2A) on the season while Kenzie Lundqvist has 14 starts in the net with 90 saves in 1303:38 minutes of play awarding her second place in the conference in saves.
THE SERIES
It is the 28th meeting between the two teams with Heidelberg leading the series 16-10-1 with Mount Union on a three-game unbeaten streak including two shutouts and a double-overtime tie.
