Women's Soccer: Mount Union Hosts Wilmington in Second to Last Home Game

ALLIANCE, Ohio-- Mount Union hosts Wilmington for an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup Saturday, Oct. 25 at 7 pm at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance. 

With one week remaining in the regular season, Mount Union is currently ranked sixth in the OAC standings. The top six teams advance to the OAC Tournament at the end of the regular season.

SCOUTING MOUNT UNION

The Purple Raiders (10-5, 3-3 OAC) are on a two-game win streak including a 6-0 shutout over Muskingum Tuesday. 

Mount Union is the OAC's highest scoring team with 38 goals as junior Kelsey Malenic (Poland/Poland Seminary) leads the team and is in a three-way tie for first in the conference with eleven goals after tying a school record with a four-goal game against Muskingum.

Senior Allison Fouss (Lowell/Marietta) leads the Raiders in assists with four on the season. 

Senior goal keeper Maria Favorite (Chesterland/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) leads the Raiders in the net and is third in the OAC posting 87 saves.

SCOUTING WILMINGTON

The Quakers (6-10, 0-6 OAC) are on a seven game losing streak including a 2-1 double-overtime loss to Otterbein Tuesday.

Sophomore Taylor Scott leads Wilmington in points (15), goals (6) and assists (3) as the Quakers are fifth-best in the OAC with 194 shots taken as a team so far this season.

Senior Taylor Frankiln has 14 starts in the net with 51 saves in 1187:40 minutes of play.

THE SERIES

It is the 18th meeting between the two teams with Wilmington leading the series 13-3-1 with Mount Union on a two-game win streak including a 3-2 victory in 2012 and a 1-0 victory against the Quakers on October 12, 2013.

In their final home game, Mount Union hosts John Carroll for Senior Night in an OAC game Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 7 pm.
