Box Score BEREA, Ohio — Fifth seeded Mount Union ended its season with a 1-0 loss at fourth seeded Baldwin Wallace in the first round of Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament Tuesday at Tressel Field.
Neither team was able to generate any goals in the first 45 minutes of play as Baldwin Wallace outshot Mount Union 8-5 in the first half.
It wasn't until the 55th minute, that Courtney Schutz would find the back of the net after a scramble at the top of the box, to give Baldwin Wallace the 1-0 victory.
In goal for the Purple Raiders, senior Maria Favorite(Chesterland/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) made 11 saves on the night giving her 335 career saves ranking her fourth on the career saves list.
Mount Union's season ends with a 12-7 record as the 12 victories tie a school single-season record that was set by the 2013 team while Favorite is ranked second for the school career shutout record with 21.
Baldwin Wallace (10-8-3) advances to the semifinal round of the OAC Tournament against top-seeded Otterbein Thursday at 7 pm in Westerville.
