LIMA, Ohio – The Mount Union women's tennis team saw their six match win-streak come to a close as they fell to Ohio Northern, 5-4, in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup Saturday in Lima, Ohio.
The Purple Raiders fall to 6-1 overall and 0-1 in the OAC, while Ohio Northern improves to 9-2 and 2-0 in the conference.
MacKenzie Jenkins (North Hampton/North Hampton) defeated Christina Corbean 6-0, 5-7, 6-3 in the number one singles spot, and Mandy Wise (North Canton/Hoover) defeated Taryn Stromback 6-0, 6-3 in the two singles position.
In doubles action, the team of Jenkins and Megan Reichert (Ashtabula/Lakeside) defeated Corbean and Brittany Toney 9-7.
Mount Union returns to the court Wednesday, April 2 at 3:30 when they host John Carroll in an OAC matchup.
