Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio— Mount Union's women's soccer team scored a 2-0 shutout over Grove City Wednesday at Mount Union Stadium.
The Purple Raiders advance to 6-2 with the victory while Grove City falls to 1-6-1.
Neither team would score until the 32nd minute of the second half when sophomore Taylor Lanese (Parma/Valley Forge) found the back of the net from 20 yards out.
Mount Union would score again at the 74:07 mark when senior Nicole Moldovan (Cortland/Lakeview) scored off a through ball from freshman Katie Goedecke (Cuyahoga Falls/St. Vincent-St. Mary).
In the net for the Raiders, earning her third shutout of the season, was senior goalkeeper Maria Favorite (Chesterland/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) posting 5 saves on the night.
Mount Union travels to Beaver Falls, Pa. to take on Geneva, Saturday Sept. 27 at 2 pm.
