HILTON HEAD, S.C. –The Mount Union women's tennis team defeated Roanoke 5-4 Thursday, in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

The Purple Raiders improve to 4-2 on the season.

Mount Union's Kayla Johnston (Ashtabula/Lakeside) defeated Roanoke 10-4 in the number five singles spot and MacKenzie Jenkins (North Hampton/Northwestern won the only other singles match for the Raiders 10-7 in the number one spot.

The Raiders swept Roanoke in doubles action, with Jenkins and Megan Reichert (Ashtabula/Lakeside) defeating Henderson and Kegel 8-6 in the number one spot. Mandy Wise (North Canton/Hoover) and Alix Stein (New Philidelphia/New Philidelphia) defeated Smith and Barker 8-4 in the two spot.

Mount Union is back on the courts tomorrow at 12:00 pm against Elizabethtown in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
