HILTON HEAD, S.C. –The Mount Union women's tennis team dropped a match to Elizabethtown, 5-4, on Friday, in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The Purple Raiders drop to 4-3 on the season.
Mount Union's Kayla Johnston (Ashtabula/Lakeside) defeated Taylor Helsel 10-4 in the number five singles spot and MacKenzie Jenkins (North Hampton/Northwestern won in the number one spot for the Raiders. Mandy Wise (North Canton/Hoover) defeated Kaitlyn Pellegrino, 6-1 and 6-4, in the number two spot.
In doubles action, Jenkins and Megan Reichert (Ashtabula/Lakeside) defeated C. Evangelista and Pellegrino, 8-3, in the number one spot.
Mount Union returns home to take on Grove City (Pa.) Wednesday, Mar. 11 at 3:30 pm at the Whitehill Tennis Courts in Alliance.
