ALLIANCE, Ohio-- The University of Mount Union softball team hosts Muskingum for an Ohio Athletic Conference, double header Tuesday, April 14 at 3 pm at 23rd Street Field in Alliance.
The Purple Raiders are 11-15 overall (4-8 OAC) after splitting a pair of games with Marietta Saturday. Muskingum is 15-15 overall (6-6 OAC) on a five-game winning streak.
The Raiders are led by sophomore Olivia Schumacher (Gahanna/Gahanna Lincoln) who is leading the OAC hitting a .500 batting average and scoring 23 runs off of 41 hits.
Freshman Brittany Baitt (Painesville/Riverside) follows with 35 hits and tied for team leader with sophomore Logan Lehman (Orriville/Orrville) driving in 17 RBI.
On the mound for the Raiders, junior Erin Simmons (Suffield/Field) is leading the team with 86.1innings pitched with 43 strikeouts while being ranked 10th in the conference with five wins.
Mount Union next travels to Baldwin Wallace for an OAC game Saturday, April 18 at 1 pm in Berea.
